Bindaedok Savoury Korean Pancakes Day 25 of 30 Days 30 Breakfast Challenge
0Pancakes for breakfast are favourites at our home. These savoury Korean pancakes, Bindaedoks are the current favourites {they resemble our moong dal cheela a lot}. When I was searching some Korean breakfast recipe, I found these somewhat familiar and I knew that these are going to agree with our taste buds and did they? We loved them
Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow moong dal (mung beans)
- 1 scallion
- 1 fresh red chilli thinly sliced
- 1 cup water
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4-5 sesame leaves (or any fragrant herb of your choice)
- 4 tablespoons sesame oil
Instructions
- Wash and rinse moong dal and rice in cold water and soak both of these
- together for 2 hours.
- Chop scallion thinly and keep aside. Drain moong and rice and discard water. Blend and grind in a liquidizer until smooth.
- Take out mixture in a big bowl and mix scallions, egg, green herb and salt
- and mix it well.
- Heat a non stick pan and grease it with ½ tsp of oil. Take a ladle of batter and spread it on pan with swirling action of ladle in
- round shape.
- Let it cook on one side till it becomes light golden brown and flip it to cook from another side too.
- When both the sides are cooked remove it from pan and serve with any dipping sauce of your choice. I served it with fresh and spicy cucumber and tomato salad.
