These days there too many events are happening last weekend happen to got an invite for le Meridien Eau De Monsoon an event organized especially for bloggers where le Meridien Delhi showcased their new menu {
a perfect blend of traditional with modern} and also it was a pleasure to visit their state of art wine cellar.
Though was avoiding any outings due to some commitments, I did not want to miss this because did not want to miss meeting with some of my favourite bloggers and other very important one was, I did not want to miss any thing related with le Meridien { I just love the place and hospitality there}.
There was such an exhaustive drink menu to choose from, on my previous visit I tried
espresso martini so this time wanted to try something else.
Opted for this orange passion mocktail (a concoction of orange juice, ginger ale) a perfect drink with accompaniment of some wasabi peas and chickpeas to kick-start lovely afternoon.
Here are some of the cocktails and mocktails on the menu. Other than orange passion I tried this cucumber drink which was refreshingly good but I would prefer orange passion any day.
After a visit to state of art wine cellar, which has a beautiful selection of wines for every occasion, le Meridien’s in- house wine sommelier Soman informed us that if a patron is confused about wine and food pairing or selecting a wine to go with particular meal or occasion some
one experienced is always there to help out them.
Just like a traditional wine celler wine are stored at same conditions {temperature and humidity} in the tall refrigerators which have zero vibrations so that taste and body of wine is same throughout.
After all the splendour of wine cellar , we moved inside a private dining room and I was so mesmerised by the opulence that all I could do was clicking photographs { what else
}

| Loved that Gorgeous Table Setting |
Wine Sommelier Magandeep singh who selected wines for the afternoon, explained to us about myriad flavours and nuances of fine wine tasting. One thing which I loved about his philosophy “Let your tongue guide you to choose your wine from the taste and not according to set ideas and rules“.
Moving on to food Chef Devendra introduced us new avante-grade menu, a contemporary menu where traditional meets modern{ Indian food presented in true international style as well as so as to create focus on certain flavours and spices to retain the character of the dish}. He also shares his food and wine philosophy that ” Pairing is always a subjective exercise and there is no single right answer for right pair” { always have love this going beyond charted territory thing in food as well as life }
Amuse-boushe ***
An asparagus shot drink which was made with thick pureed asparagus, warm on the top and cold from below.
This deconstructed samosa and dosa with frozen coconut chutney is true example of the same. Loved the flavours and the taste of both the dishes with the exception of frozen chutney which had slightly jelly like texture.
Food in above Picture I have given them * according to my liking for particular dish
Morel in aged Basmati ( Biryani) ***
Cottage Cheese and Spinach in Salan Gravy ***
Maize Cannelloni in Bell Pepper Coulis ****
Spicy Nan *****

Tandoori Broccoli with Grilled Asparagus Just the way I like it , not too mushy and not too crisp ****

Chocolate Cream Brulee With Gulab Jamun *****
Mascarpone with Pistachio Biscuit ***
Perfect Ending of a Perfect meal very aptly named dessert platter Discovery { a discovery of flavours} by Chef Vikas and his team, this was amalgamation of flavours traditional with contemporary. Loved Chocolate cream brulee with mini gulab jamun {two mini gulab jamuns dunked in tea liqure cream brulee}.
Just when we thought meal is over there was more, Magandeep Singh was back with some more dessert wine {Torres Floralis Moscatel Oro} the only wine which I had in the lunch , Generally don’t have stomach for wine just a sip it was delicious, more than wine I loved the bottle too bad that when I realised it, All empty bottles were gone, Ruchira next time I will be prompt .
Just when I was ready to leave for a movie date with Both Teens { repeated calls from them all this while } there was some more , Yes award winning Master Barista Manisha Chetri was there with her famous Illy Coffee “Illiccino” Espresso and Kahlua topped with a dash of Tia Maria { you have got to taste it to believe it}.

Something About le Meridien and Starwood Hospitality
In a brief introduction about Le Meridien {a paris born hotel brand that has currently 104 properties spanning in 50 countries } recently brand which was acquired by starwood hospitality has undergone through a brand relaunch and looking for dynamic expansion plans.

Loved quite a few things they told us about their services which are personalised to the extent that they offer you to choose even the style of pillow {a big bone of contention for me during most of my hotel stays} to the selection of chai you want in the morning and soaked almonds on your bed stand so that you start your day on a healthy note {very Indian concept so that guest should feel at home}.
