One of my earliest memories of peas is eating peas in childhood when mum used to shell peas and me and my younger sis eating fresh shelled peas, tender and sweet; one of the tastes which always stays in your memory no matter how grown up are you now.
Winters are great time for vegetarians like me, where nature blesses us
with so much variety of colourful vegetables and I had a gala time
shopping for the vegetables and fruits. My and hubs really get greedy
when we are shopping for vegetables so as usual yesterday after grocery
shopping we ended up with a table full of vegetables and fruits and two
bags of garden peas , 2 bags because one I bought and other was bought
by DH even it was not in his list .
So I guess lots of peas are going to be cooked this week or else I have to freeze them, let’s see how much I can cook during the week.
First thing to use peas was this delicious yet easy to make Warm peas salad. We had too much fun while cooking this, teens and their father are so much fun in the kitchen only thing after they leave, the kitchen is not recognisable anymore … but Am I complaining …
Tender and sweet, the peas cooked with assortment of spices and herbs like cilantro and ginger to provide it a delicious kick.
