If you are regular on this space then probably I need not to tell you about our love affair with the Chocolate. Nothing fails to cheer us up like a chocolate dark, white, light, nutty fruity, any good quality chocolate is welcome at out home (hint …Hint). We is a chocoholic family in true sense.
When I say chocoholic; before you jump to any conclusion, let me explain; that it is not like that we can eat just any quality or quantity of chocolate, Before I put it anything into my shopping cart It has to qualify certain standards.
I love dark chocolates, DH and Son they can have all dark, white, light, truffles, bars, barks anything and DD she has taken over me (so dark it is) as far as food is concerned, otherwise she is totally a Papa’s girl.
Few days back DH got so many verieties of chocolates when he was visiting Sweden, Can you imagine almost 7-8 pounds of various types of chocolate in your fridge (yes it is that crazy at our home).
I need not to say that it’s almost a chocolate fest going on here since past 2 months, but one rule here no one is going to consume more than a big square ( yes we are that disciplined too).
Today is DH’s birthday so I thought to use something from the stash, (no prize for guessing) a moist gooey dark chocolate cake with ganache ( will post recipe later) and these healthy and high protein chocolate barks.
This Chocolate bark is so creamy and soft that it melts in your mouth and nuts and black currants will provide you nutty taste and chewy texture. In short it is unique experience to enjoy.
This can be used as pre-workout or post workout snack, if you are into serious workouts or train for long hours. Ideal snack (not on daily basis) for kids after playing outdoors it has nuts (good fats), dark chocolate and protein ( if making for kids use the normal protein powder instead of whey which I have used in the recipe). Nutritious snack though you seriously have to follow portion control, as it is rich in calories too.
So do enjoy a small piece without guilt for a total sensory explosion. All this without guilt, its healthy and its high protein chocolate.
